What is Muslim Charity?
Charity is a large part of Islam, with the ability for huge rewards for all involved. Charity or alms, also known as Zakat or Sadaka in Arabic, is the third of the Five Pillars of Islam and thus, essential teaching of the Islamic faith. Being charitable and looking after the weak and poor are essential components of the Muslim character. Charity is so important that it comes best after the declaration of faith (shahada) and prayer (salat).
