How do I have the donations paid to a bank account number?

Donations are paid out through Stripe, WhyDonate's payment provider, and your bank details are entered in Stripe rather than in WhyDonate.

Add or change your bank account

1. Log in and go to Payout settings in your profile.
2. Follow the Stripe onboarding screens that open there.
3. Enter your bank details in Stripe and complete any verification it asks for.

Stripe holds the account details, not WhyDonate, which is why the form looks different from the rest of the dashboard.

Once it is set up

When Stripe has accepted the account, payouts run on your payout schedule with no further action from you.

If Stripe still needs something from you, the dashboard shows a banner saying so, and payouts are held until it is resolved. See bank account and identity verification at Stripe.

A note on older articles

WhyDonate used to pay out through Transferwise, and some older instructions still describe it. That is no longer how payouts work. Everything now runs through Stripe.
