How do I update my account name and account type (individual or organization)?

You can manage your account details — your name, and whether you are registered as an individual or an organization — from My Account in your WhyDonate dashboard.

Find your account settings

1. Log in to your WhyDonate account.
2. On mobile: in the left-side menu, find Profile Settings and go to My Account.
3. On desktop: click your profile icon in the top-right header menu.
4. Select My Account.

Change your name

1. In My Account, find your details under User Info.
2. Update your first name, last name, or organization name as needed.
3. Click Save to apply the changes.

Note: your name is visible on your fundraiser pages and to donors, so make sure it accurately represents you or your organization.

Individual or organization

Your account represents either:

• An individual — a private person raising funds for a personal or charitable cause.
• An organization — a charity, foundation, or other legal entity.

You choose this when you register, and you can switch it later.

Update your account type

1. Open My Account.
2. Find the Account type field and select Individual or Organization.
3. Fill in the details asked for: first name, last name, organization name if you chose Organization, phone number and your user credentials.
4. Click Save to confirm.
