Yes. Every fundraiser page carries a Report Fundraiser link. Use it if you doubt what a fundraiser is collecting for, who is behind it, or how the money will be used.
How to report a fundraiser
- Open the fundraiser page.
- Click Report Fundraiser.
- Fill in your Full Name and Email Address.
- Describe the problem in the description field. There is room for up to 15,000 characters, so there is space for detail.
- Click Save.
What to put in the description
A review is only as good as what you send with it, so be specific:
- what made you doubt the fundraiser, in plain terms;
- anything that can be checked, such as the same photo or story published somewhere else;
- whether you have been in touch with the organizer, and what they said.
Your email address matters here. It is the only way WhyDonate can come back to you if the review needs more evidence.
What happens next
WhyDonate reviews the fundraiser to decide whether it breaks the platform guidelines.
You will hear back only if more evidence is needed, and that message comes by email, so it is worth checking your spam folder too.
While your report is being handled, the link on that fundraiser will tell you that you cannot report it again. That is not an error. It means the report is already with the team, and a second one would add nothing.
You will not be told what action was taken. The outcome of a review concerns the organizer's account, and that stays between WhyDonate and them.
